The Pike River Recovery Agency is looking for a part-time Finance Operations Officer.

Chief of Staff Michelle Wessing says the 20 hours a week position will be helpful in managing accounts and suppliers, producing financial statements and processing payrolls for the small agency team.

The agency was established this year to develop a plan for safe manned re-entry to the mine drift; to provide advice to the Minister on whether that could be safely achieved; to oversee the implementation of that plan if the Minister makes a decision to proceed on the strength of that advice; and importantly, to try and find out what happened to create the explosion which killed 29 men, and to recover any bodies in the drift.

“We are looking for someone who is able to work autonomously and has proven experience in meeting multiple high pressure deadlines, accounts payable processes, payroll, and a solid understanding of legal and contractual obligations.  This is a fixed term role based in Greymouth through to June 2019,” Mr Pattinson says.
